C.K. in K.C.: Kansas City Theatre

There is a large variety of shows in the Kansas City metro for frequent theatre-goers and theatre amateurs alike.

This week, junior Cat Derousse and I took a trip to the Nelson-Atkins Museum to see KC Repertory Theater’s production of Sunday in the Park with George, a musical following a fictionalized Georges Seurat and his work on his famous painting “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.” This show runs until Oct. 4. Tickets can be purchased here.

Although this blog entry only detailed a single production, I wanted to notify you of several upcoming shows at a multitude of theaters.

Crown Center’s Coterie Theatre’s 2015-2016 season includes shows such as The Miracle Worker and Where the Wild Things Are. See the rest of the season or purchase tickets here.

Musical Theater Heritage, also in Crown Center, will be hosting shows such as Urinetown and Next to Normal in the near future. The rest of the season can be seen here.

Other theaters in the Kansas City metro are the Kansas City Repertory Theater, The Barn Players and Starlight Theatre. In addition, high schools and colleges all over are working on productions; all it takes to go is to take a quick look at their websites!

Once again, I had fun sharing this experience with you, and I’ll talk to you again in two weeks.
