You may recognize Ariana Grande from her roles on Nickelodeon. Red-haired Cat may not have brains, but she does occasionally show her singing ability. Grande’s voice is finally the star of the show in Yours Truly, and it is fantastic.
Grande’s summer hit, “The Way,” was amazing, but it doesn’t stand out among the other could-be singles in Yours Truly. From party songs to ballads, Grande’s album feels complete without trying too hard. Compared by critics to Mariah Carey, Grande sings love songs that seem to belong in another era: back when music was actually good. Without a doubt, this album is a thumbs up.
