Starbuck’s sugar cookie almond milk latte

Starbuck’s holiday menu features a variety of interesting drinks, but the first I tried was the sugar cookie almond milk latte.

I am not a fan of Starbucks lattes. The espresso is always burnt, and it never tastes like a traditional latte. So, when my friend recommended the iced sugar cookie almond milk latte, I was skeptical. However, after a surprisingly pleasant coffee, I owe Starbucks an apology.

The iced sugar cookie almond milk latte is featured on the Starbucks holiday menu and is described as a “Sugar cookie-flavored syrup combined with Starbucks Blonde espresso and steamed almond milk, topped with red and green sprinkles.

Upon first glance, the drink is perfectly festive with sprinkles on top. I did not particularly enjoy the taste of the sprinkles as they became soft and soggy towards the bottom of the drink. However, they were a nice, decorative flourish.

The coffee itself was tasty. Although I typically drink my coffee with oat-milk, I enjoyed the almond milk taste as well. The espresso was also surprisingly pleasant. However, the absolute best aspect of the drink was the sugar cookie syrup. It genuinely tasted like my mom’s sugar cookies.

Other than the sprinkles, my one criticism would be that the drink was a tad too sweet. If I were to try it again, I would probably get one less pump of sugar cookie syrup so the coffee flavor could come through. However, the drink is perfectly fine without any modifications, and I would rate it 4/5 stars.

So, I owe Starbucks an apology for underestimating this drink. I might even try other drinks from their Holiday menu…
