The wonderful world of Harry Potter

The wonderful world of Harry Potter
The film "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1" was released Nov 19. The movie was one of two parts representing the seventh book of the Harry Potter series.

The clock strikes midnight. The theater is filled with Harry Potter nerds all swimming with anticipation just to see the beginning of the end. I sit there in my full length robe, gray skirt, red sweater, striped tie, and all of course while sporting some large frizzy hair. I sit and embrace the moment, because it is one of the last times I can get away with telling people my name is truly Hermionie. (I do have a confession that I am the essence of Dobby and wish I had a costume to pull that off, too cute)

I recently attended the midnight premiere of the seventh movie in the seven part Harry Potter series. Of course the men in Hollywood are making the Harry Potter addicts sit through two whole movies to include all of the information from the last book. But I am okay with that because I have enjoyed the books and of course the movies ever since Hagrid said those four words ‘You’re a wizard Harry.’

So my fellow Harry Potter friends, Betsy (Bellatrix), Lilly (Katie Bell), Addie (Hagrid), Mary (Harry), Garrett (Harry #2), Seth (Madeye), Alex (Snape), Sarah (Moaning Myrtle), Madalyne (Umbridge) and Jackson (muggle) thank you for making my Harry Potter experience that much better. Okay so yes, we were probably the only people that dressed for this midnight premiere. But our crew looked amazing and every single person that passed by was just jealous. We are in high school and we are still dressing up in costumes, so what.

Harry Potter is my childhood. I grew up with these movies, I grew up with these books, I grew up in the world of Hogwarts. I know anyone that could go on for hours about how amazing these novels are. There is just something about the world that draws you in and what makes the stories so great. Through the thousands of pages, you begin to admire every character and actually feel like you know them on a personal level. I find myself saying this a lot, but I promise I am not a nerd. These books and movies ain’t no Twilight. If I ever have the honor of traveling to England, I can actually picture the possibilities of what it would be like to be swept away on the Platform 9 ¾.

I am finally getting over the denial that the books are over, so don’t mock me because I decided to dress up for one of the last movies. Only one more movie premiere of taking on an entire different persona of a character from the world of Harry Potter. Although I am almost eighteen years old, I still like dressing up, and I still like pretending I am a wizard. I don’t care what anyone says, I will always love you Harry Potter.

Give us some feedback! What did you think of the new movie? Did you go to the midnight premiere and have a simliar experience with your friends? Share in the comments below.

Haha, thanks for the shout out, Laur! I mean, Hermione… Save your costume for July!
