My Fair City: The Hedgehog, a “terribly elegant” movie

Please go see “The Hedgehog.”

I saw it a few weeks ago at the Tivoli and fell in love with it. Much like after I saw “Beginners” this summer, I left the theater thinking, “If I ever made a movie, I would make that one.”

Set in Paris (it’s French with subtitles — you are forewarned), “The Hedgehog”follows Paloma, an eleven year old documentarian, as she observes and records her family members and the characters in her apartment building. Almost unrealistically intelligent, Paloma makes friends with her landlady, Renee. Based on the novel “The Elegance of the Hedgehog” by Muriel Barbery, this movie is full of emotion, intelligence and wit. Go see it soon before it goes out of theaters!
