STA hosted a robotics meet in Goppert Saturday, Dec. 1. The STA robotics team, the Starbots, did not participate, although they were present at the meet. The robots from the participating teams competed by measuring their robots’ abilities to complete tasks like lifting heavy cubes and stacking objects. Although the Starbots did not compete in the meet they were qualified to and will likely compete in the next one. Sophomore Kelsey Raymer is on the robotics team and looks forward to the meets for fun competition and “meeting interesting people.” Raymer has built a robot arm that is able to lift a 30 pound cube.
