Disinterested actors lead to uninteresting movie | by ROSIE HODES
A wannabe “Office Space,” “Extract” left me unsatisfied.  I didn’t hate it, and I didn’t love it.  I felt nothing towards it.  It seems the main character, Joel (Jason Bateman), felt the same way.  Throughout the entire movie, he seemed so disinterested in correcting his pathetic life, whether it meant running a flavor extract factory or hiring a gigolo for his wife.  Honestly, his personality was the same whether he was completely sober, drunk, stoned, or on horse tranquilizers, courtesy of his bartender friend played by Ben Affleck.  I don’t recommend spending time or money to see “Extract” on the big screen.
