Cruz and Sanders win Kansas caucus

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Vt. Sen. Bernie Sanders gained the most votes at the Kansas caucuses Saturday.

The Kansas caucuses were held Saturday for both the Democratic and Republican parties. According to the New York Times, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz won for the Republicans, gaining 24 delegates. Businessman Donald Trump followed, gaining nine delegates, and Fla. Sen. Marco Rubio gained six delegates. Ohio Gov. John Kasich gained one delegate.

On the Democratic side, Vt. Sen. Bernie Sanders won the caucus, gaining 23 delegates. Fmr. Sec. of State Hillary Clinton gained 10 delegates. The caucus was held at various locations throughout the state, depending on the party.

Despite these victories, Trump and Clinton still lead their respective parties in delegate count.

The Missouri primaries will be held March 15. Register to vote at the Department of Motor Vehicles or online at usa.gov or rockthevote.com.
