STA Spirit Club officers met Aug. 18 in social studies teacher and club moderator Anne Papineau’s classroom to begin preparations for the new school year. This year’s officers are president MaryMichael Hough, vice president Gabby Keller, secretary Grace Orscheln and treasurer Eleanor Lueke. According to Papineau, they are focused on planning the first pep rally, which is to take place Sept. 25.

At the STA Club Fair Aug. 25, the officers and other Spirit Club members performed school cheers and handed out candy to attract new members. School mascot Twinks also walked around the Quad along with Hough to talk to freshmen.

“We’re really looking forward to getting everybody excited about STA events, whether that’s athletic, artistic or academic,” Hough said.
