The STA student productions are written and directed by individuals or small groups of the senior class. Each production is approximately 10 minutes long. Senior Sarah Kostoryz is the director of the production, “It Happens.” Tryouts were held Thursday, March 28. There are 10 cast members in Kostoryz’s production, who have been rehearsing since April 3.The live performance, including the three other groups will be held in the auditorium at STA April 26 and 27 at 7: 30 pm.

STA relies on Praise Band to lead songs and provide live music during masses and liturgies. Members meet in the Choir Room at least once a week during Activity 1 and 2 to practice under direction of Choir teacher Greg Monsma. Praise Band is not just singers, but also a diverse mix of instruments including a piano, bass guitar, drums, and flute. Praise Band was started in 2010 and is open to any student who wishes to audition.

Student Productions are one act plays written and directed by seniors and starring STA students. Senior Elaine Schmidt wrote “The Zoo” for this year’s student productions. “The Zoo” cast consisted of eight students from all different grades. Over the past few weeks, they have rehearsed multiple days a week in the Black Box Theater, Schmidt’s house, and held dress rehearsals in the auditorium in preparation for the production which t00k place April 26-27.

A Capella choir is a non-audition group of sophomores, juniors, and seniors that sing choral music for STA. The perform four concerts a year. They meet five times during the week in the choir room. When they meet, they rehearse music and learn more about how to read music. The purpose of this choir is to give music to STA.
