President Obama’s second inauguration ceremony took place Sunday, Jan 20. Inauguration of the president involved a private ceremony, which took place Sunday, and a public ceremony that took place Monday. The theme for the inauguration was “Faith in America’s future.” Many events occurred in Washington D.C. from Jan. 19 through Jan. 21 to celebrate the inauguration including concerts, the swearing-in ceremony, a parade, inaugural balls and a prayer service. Junior Katy Wonder thought that President Obama’s last inauguration was better than this one.

“I thought overall the inauguration was good,” Wonder said. “I just thought the guy that read the poem sounded a lot more like a speech than a poem. I thought the last inauguration was better than the this one. But overall I thought it was really nice.”
