Juniors Mady Sargent and Molly Woolery finished the White Rock Dallas Marathon with times of five hours, eight minutes and five hours, twenty seven minutes respectively Dec. 9.
“It’s always been a goal of mine and Molly’s,” Sargent said. “We are both very glad to have finished it.”
According to Sargent, there were 25,000 contestants, 10,000 of which finished the marathon. There were only 19 in Sargent and Woolery’s age group.
“I feel pretty good about it,” Sargent said. “It will always be a big memory and accomplishment of mine.”
There has been one other STA runner who has finished the 26.2 mile distance while still in high school.
