Monday, February 6, the STA and Sion volleyball teams played multiple games at Rockhurst High School for Rockhurst’s mission week. Each grade level from Rockhurst played a game against the Sion and STA volleyball teams. Some Rockhurst boys dressed in short shorts and tank tops while each girl on the STA volleyball team wore a different color.
During the last game Sarah Godfrey, Kathleen Vogel and Taylor Migliazzo teamed up with three Sion girls to play in the “all star” game, where the best players from Rockhurst from each grade level combined. The Sion and STA girls lost this game, but according to junior Elaine Schmidt, who did not play in the last game, they weren’t trying their hardest.
“We didn’t really try very hard, it’s just for fun,” Schmidt said.
The money raised from the admissions at the volleyball game went to a Jesuit mission, St. Peter Cavalier, in Bolivia.
