Last Saturday, the varsity, JV and C cross country teams traveled to Lawrence, KS to compete in the Rim Rock Farm Classic meet. The varsity team placed fifth out of 27 teams. The JV team placed first, beating St. Thomas Aquinas High School by one point. The C team received second place. Junior Lane Maguire placed ninth, and junior Courtney Coppinger placed 21 out of 186 varsity competitors. Varsity runner Sarah Vickery believes that even though there were no other Missouri teams that placed above STA, their biggest competition will be at KC Metro championships this weekend.
“It will be interesting what happens at our next meet because our big competition schools will be there so we can really see how we’ll be placing at districts,” Vickery said.
