STA held the annual Mother Daughter Luncheon March 31. The mothers and daughters attended the luncheon at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown, and doors for the event opened at 11:45. While attendees waited for the event to start, they had the option of grabbing a coffee or having their photo taken by a photographer.

Every year, the luncheon ends with a fashion show where the models consist of students from the senior class. Each group of seniors is sponsored by a shop in the Kansas City area. Seniors are loaned outfits from their sponsor to strut on the runway.

Senior Paige Sopyla’s group was sponsored by Amelia’s boutique.

“It was really easy to work with the vendors,” Sopyla said. “They let us go through the entire store and basically pick out whatever we wanted.”

The total attendance was 775 mothers and daughters, while 116 seniors participated in the fashion show.
