Therapy dog, Bode, and his handler, Ann Rosenwasser, pay their first visit to STA. The pair visited during the PAW Club’s meeting Jan. 18.

“I think Bode will have a mutual effect on the students of STA,” Rosenwasser said. “He will love the attention while the students will enjoy an animal that is loving and wants to be with them.”

The focus of Bode and Rosenwasser’s visit to PAW Club was to educate the members on the benefits of therapy dogs. They also learned how therapy dogs are different from service dogs and other working animals.

“I think that any population can benefit from appreciating that there’s more than just humans on this earth,” Rosenwasser said. “Animals can make a difference in how we learn, heal, and just feel better on a daily basis.”

Bode will begin weekly visits during Activity periods to help students with stress relief.
