The autumn concert was held Oct. 17 for the friends and family of students involved in STA’s choirs. The concert was held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the auditorium. Four musical groups performed including STA’s concert choir, chorale, the STA singers and the cast of the upcoming musical Spamalot, which opens Nov. 7.

This was the first performance of the year for STA’s musical groups. The concert choir, chorale and STA singers all performed three songs while the cast of Spamalot performed “All for One.”

Lauren Ennis, a member of STA singers, explained how STA singers prepares for concerts.

“We started the preparation process back in the end of August and early September when we received the music we would perform for this concert,” Ennis said. We start by sight reading and count singing and gradually add words until we are to a point where we know the rhythms and pitches.”

Now, STA’s choirs will start the process of preparing for their Christmas concert which is scheduled for Dec. 11.
