The track team competed at the Blue Springs High School meet on May 12. Sophomore Delaney Hupke placed first in Girls High Jump while Freshman Leah North placed first in Girls Long Jump and Girls 100 M Dash. Senior Sofia Giocondo placed first in Girls Javelin while Junior Addison Coppinger placed first in Girls 800 M Run. In Relays, Junior Erris Pierson, Freshman Leah North, Lauren North and Kayla Smocks placed first in Girls 4×100 M, breaking the school record.

“We broke the 4×1 relay record and I broke the long jump,” Leah North said. “It was exciting for both of those records to be broken, but probably more exciting for the 4×1 because we had been trying so hard to run under 50 seconds.”

Overall, St.Teresa’s Academy placed second in the meet with 143 points and 19 events scored.

The Stars will compete at Sectionals Saturday, May 19 at William Chrisman High School.
