The Free the Girls Bra Drive was hosted by the school’s Book Club during the week of March 19-23. The drive was held to support girls experiencing human trafficking. Carrie Jacquin, the librarian at school and moderator of the school’s book club, gave announcements all week to remind students to bring in their gently used bras.

Jacquin says the bras will be given to “developing countries where woman can use them to escape human trafficking.” She announced an event on March 19 held at Rockhurst University that deals with human trafficking.

Those who brought in donations were placed into a drawing to win a month of free yoga at Hagoyah, a yoga studio in Waldo. Students were directed to drop their donations in the front halls of the M&A building, Donnelly Hall or in the library.
