The school hosted a parliamentary debate this Wednesday, Oct. 25. Sophomores Grace Pence and Sophia Durone placed sixth, and senior Claire Witt and sophomore Anne Chapman placed seventh in the varsity divisions.

The debate was a metaphorical topic, and it had to be linked to the quotes “we must wait in line” and “there is something evil lurking”. The teams were all given 20 minutes to prepare for the debate. Senior Siobhan Bradley also competed in the debate and explained how she prepared for this type of debate.

“My partner [senior] Annie Mullen and I prepared by making a list of debatable topics we could pick after we had been given the metaphorical quote,” Bradley said.

The next debate will take place at Notre Dame de Sion on Nov. 8.
