St. Teresa’s celebrated the anniversary of the passing of former teacher and accompanist Steven Karlin who passed away last year Oct. 21, 2016.

Karlin was a musician and taught piano for six years. He was involved in Heartland’s Men’s Chorus, Karlin Kabaret, GSA Club and Praise Band. Students and staff commemorated Steven by sharing treats, watching musicals and dressing in colorful outfits to remember his vibrant personality.

Theatre teacher Shana Prentiss, described Karlin as “the sassiest, most hilarious person to ever walk these halls.” Prentiss planned this celebration as a way to honor Karlin and the impact he had on the school.

Counseling was available all day in the chapel for those in need of comfort and support on the anniversary of Karlin’s death.
