Varsity volleyball team competes in Bronco volleyball tournament

The Stars competed in the Bronco Volleyball tournament against Pleasant Hill High School, Lee’s Summit High and Ozark High School.

The Stars competed in Bronco Invitational Tournament at Lees Summit North Sept. 16. They played three teams, Pleasant Hill High School, Lee’s Summit High and Ozark High School.

The Stars first played Pleasant Hill High School. In the first set they lost 27-25 and won 25-18 in the second set, resulting in a tie.

The Stars then played Lee’s Summit High and won. In the first set they won 25-21 and won 25-19 in the second set.

“I feel strong and as long as we can put our best effort forward, we can put forth a good game,” said sophomore Elise McGhee after winning against Lee’s Summit High.

The Stars played Ozark High School in their final game. The two teams tied at first and then Ozark won in the final set. The Stars won 25-21 in the first set, Ozark won 25-14 in the second set and Ozark won 25-21 in the final set.

“We are doing pretty well,” Junior Jordan Klumb said before heading into the third game. “We are down a few players but I think we are playing really well as a team.”
