Today many students went to the performance “Shakespeare Goes to the Opera” in the auditorium over activity periods one and two. The main frame of the performance was based off of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” but also included scenes and songs from a variety of other Shakespearean plays such as “The Taming of the Shrew,” “Hamlet,” “Macbeth” and “The Tempest.”

After the performance, the troupe of actors introduced themselves. All six of the actors came from either the Lyric Opera of Kansas City or The Heart of America Shakespeare Festival. There was a brief period where students were allowed to ask more about what goes into the making of the production and how it came to be.
