The debate team competed at University Academy Oct. 25. According to junior debate member Catherine Ebbitts, 15 to 20 girls competed and the team had a couple of people come to watch.
According to debate moderator Alicia Stewart, three STA novice teams placed. Freshmen Ella Norton and Elianna Lee came in sixth, sophomores Paige Sopyla and Cozy Viles came in eighth, and freshmen Aspen Cherrito and Avery Owens came in tenth place.
“It is impressive that our younger debaters got a lot of 2-0s to win,” Ebbitts said.
No STA varsity teams placed.
