Gallery: KC Irish Fest returns

Irish Fest brings tourism to Kansas City and Crown Center every year with food, music, art, and much more.

Irish Fest revisited Kansas City once again this past Labor Day weekend. Held at Crown Center, Irish Fest celebrates “Celtic pride in Cowtown” with live music, Irish food, shopping, art, and a Sunday Mass.

Musical guests including The Elders and Keith Harkin performed on one of the four stages for live music. With nine stages in all, music wasn’t the only thing people flocked to them for: comedy, kids and culture stages were also enjoyed.

Kids weren’t left out either. The annual costume contests were held, and this year’s theme was celebrating “How the Irish Invented Halloween.” Performers, bouncy castles, face painting and henna, bingo, balloon artists and yard games kept the kids captivated.

There was even a booth with genealogy experts to help you fill out your Irish family tree if you were curious about your Irish heritage.
