The St. Teresa’s Academy stars soccer team won the State championship Saturday, clinching the title for the second year in a row by beating St. Joseph’s Academy 4-2. With three of the four goals scored in the second half, the Stars fought to finish the season 20-4. Freshman Lily Farkas scored the first two goals, tying the game shortly after the beginning of the second half. Seniors Kate Scofield and Alyssa Seitzer scored the next two points, solidifying a lead that the team maintained to eventually win the game.

“It is my last game ever playing soccer and I wanted to go out with a bang,” Scofield told the Kansas City Star. “I think we certainly did. My teammates helped me to do that.”
