According to science teacher Sarah Stranz, head of the science department, many of the science classes are already getting into some of the more interesting projects of the year.

The Biology and Advanced Biology students are finishing up their bug projects, during which they collect at least 30 insects over the summer.

Stranz also stated that the chemistry classes have already begun labs. Renee Blake’s forensics students have begun to investigate the mock “murder” complete with crime scene located in the hallway of the third floor of Donnelley.

The technology department, as well as STEM Club and several other teachers, are working on getting STA’s three new 3D printers ready for students, according to Stranz.

“The STEM Club and some of the science teachers have been experimenting with [the 3D printers] and running the programs,” Stranz said. “Hopefully, once STEM Club is trained [to use] it, the different classes will start using them as well.”
