This Saturday, the St. Teresa’s Academy volleyball team will be competing in the sixth annual Time Warner Cable Volleyball Slam at St. James’ Academy. The Stars will be playing against Lee’s Summit West at 11 a.m. The Stars highly anticipate this tournament after beating Blue Springs South in their first game of the season. Both the varsity and JV volleyball teams defeated Blue Springs South in their games Aug. 29.

According to STA volleyball senior and team captain Maddie Torti, “I get a huge excited feeling in my stomach when I think about it. We haven’t won in a long time but I feel so good about this year’s team, so I think this year might be my first Metro Sports Win.”

Junior and varsity volleyball player Jacque Smith agrees with Torti. “I am really nervous but more excited,” Smith said. “These games are what we live for at STA and I’m so pumped to play with this team.”
