The Dart searched the halls of the Academy for sets of look-alikes, then asked them questions to see if they share similar qualities beyond their appearances.

“Yes, I’ve been called her twin sometimes,” Dierks said. “We’ve always called each other our twin because we are so much alike.”

“I think we do [look alike],” O’Neill said. “The hair and freckles are similar, so it works out. On Facebook sometimes when I click to tag myself it automatically tags me as Michelle Dierks.”

“I think we do look alike!” Girardeau said. “Our hair is a really different texture but we wear it all the same ways. I’m glad I had an excuse to get to know her!

“We actually convinced two people we were sisters at the beginning of the year,” McGonigle said. “We obviously have similar hair and freckles, but other than that I don’t think we look that much alike. We do look really similar when we both wear our glasses though.”

“People say we look alike a lot,” DeZeeuw said.

“Even my own parents [think we look alike],” Wilmot said. “Freshman year, I walked into Advanced Biology, looked at Tina, and was like, ‘she looks really familiar.’ For the next couple of weeks, I tried to figure out who she looked like, and eventually I realized it was me. We obviously have a completely different coloration, but we do have some similar features. It freaks me out.”

“Yeah, I think [we look alike],” Huber said. “We used to go to the same grade school, and when I got into middle school I went up to the math teacher and introduced myself on back to school night and she looked really confused as I was talking to her. After I had finished talking there was an awkward silence for a few seconds before she just said, ‘You’re not Molly Waris.'”

“No I do not [think we look alike],” Waris said. “I honestly have no idea what people are talking about. Maybe its because we both have blue eyes and brown hair.”

Pair 5: junior Ally Drummond and sophomore Maureen Whittaker

“Yeah, I do think we look alike in some ways,” Whittaker said. “One time I was walking into the gym and Mr. Egner said, ‘Good morning Ms, Drummond,’ and I was really confused.”

“When I first realized how similar we look, I thought I was seeing pictures of myself, but they were actually pictures of her,” Drummond said. “It was really weird. At school, a lot of different people have gone up to her in the halls, thinking she was me, but once they say hi, or do something embarrassing, they realize its actually Maureen and not me, then I guess things get awkward.”
