Senior Stephanie Hampel received the Academy Woman award at the Apr. 24 ceremony. Every year three seniors are nominated by teachers and fellow seniors, this year Celia O’Flaherty, McLaren O’Rear and Stephanie Hampel were nominated. Student’s named Academy Woman exemplify the values of St. Teresa’s Academy. Hampel felt appreciated and loved by teachers and fellow students after the nomination.
“I’m not sure why I was picked,” Hampel said. “I was really surprised when I heard my name on the announcements. My advisory started cheering.”
Hampel attributes her win to her approachable and overall nice attitude to everyone.
“I will probably start crying and hug Celia and McLaren because they really deserve it,” Hampel said.
