Q&A with Katie Crow, sophomore
What type of art are you most interested in?
Photography.
What art classes have you taken/clubs are you in?
I’m in photography club. It helped me a lot last year.
Do you have any artistic inspirations or a favorite photographer?
I get a lot of inspiration from writing or song lyrics and I really like Joji Beirnot’s photography. [His photography] is really dark but it’s also really true, and he puts a lot of himself into his art. He’s just an inspiring person in general.
When and why did you become interested in photography?
About the end of eighth grade year. I got a new camera for eighth grade graduation, and it was originally to work with videos, but then I got more interested in photography.
What is your favorite thing to photograph?
I’m definitely a people photographer, but my favorite things to just take pictures of constantly would be unfocused lights just because they’re so pretty.
Do you think art will play a role in your future?
Yes, I want to be a photographer.
Describe your photographs in one word or phrase.
My friend says that my style is very happy, and I capture a side of the person that really represents who they are.
