Meghan! These photos are awesome!! I love that you took photos of everyone and covered every aspect of the dance really well. It shows what it’s like to be packed into a gym with a bunch of different people from every grade that you may not know so well. Way to go Meggg!!!

    Dear Junior,
I sincerely apologize that Meghan did not take pictures of you on the bleachers. She was too busy taking pictures of what a dance actually looks like. To be honest I am worried for the professionalism of your comment, jealousy is no way for a Junior to be acting! If she put the pictures on Facebook, that means she wants to show her friends the hilarious, amazing pictures that represent the entire school. Although your comment had a well-thought out argument of how Meghan took pictures of her friends “for fun and being silly”, I’d reconsider your thought process.

Yeah Meggie way to go! Im so happy you put these up because they accurately portray what it was like to be at Teresian. I love how you incorporated all the grades in the album including sophs and seniors and random boys that you don’t know. Keep it up girlfreind, can’t wait for your next album!

    These are amazing!!
STA dances are always fun and silly and I am so happy you captured all those moments! I remember you taking pictures of freshman all the way up to seniors and thought how proffesional you were to take the time to truly represent STA. Keep up the good work!

I really enjoyed these photos because I think they actually portrayed the dance like people wanted. Most people pose for photos by their friends throughout the dance, so they’re ready for a photographer for the yearbook or newspaper to snap the picture. It is not the photographer’s fault that people enjoy posing instead of allowing for candid photos to be taken. These photos are very well done, and I thoroughly enjoy them. Great job Meghan! 🙂

MEGHAN!!! These pics are awesome:) I am obsessed with the pic of Mals!

To the junior who doesn’t appreciate Meghan’s work: Meghan was at Teresian with a DATE
Yes, some of her photographs are of her friends, but if you were in the situation, you would be taking pictures of your friends too because that is where your date is. Similarly, she is a junior. These are absolutely incredible photos for a junior in high school to be taking. If you think your photographs are better, then you should have applied to be on staff. If you don’t think you can take beautiful pictures like Meghan, then please keep your comments to yourself. Finally, a majority of these photos are not of Meghan’s closest friends. Yes there are photos of juniors on here that Meghan hangs out with, but there are numerous photos of sophomores and seniors as well. Maybe you are frustrated because you have yet to make your debut on DNO, but don’t criticize Meghan’s work or her “professionalism” here. It is unwelcomed.

Great pictures Meghan! keep up the good work. you did a great job following the rules of photojournalism such as peak action, scene setter, tight portrait, interaction, etc. Your cropping and toning also looks great!

    To Junior:
I was with Meghan as she took this photos, she was constantly trying to represent the student body in the most appropriate manner. These pictures represent the people that would provide the best content for a photo. They were animated and dancing outside the large group in the middle (where it’s nearly impossible to capture quality photos).

I believe if you had seen Meghan’s attention to detail and her attempts at an accurate representation of the student body, as I did, you would have a different opinion.

I have a serious problem with the professionalism of these photos. They are posted on Facebook, so should not be posted on here. Also, they are only pictures of the photographers friends, so do not adaquatly represent the school in any way shape or form. Photo journalism is totally different than taking pictures of your friends for fun and being silly. Please consider the differences before posting photos on the schools newspaper website and your own personal Facebook.
