From February 14 through the 25, STA participated in its annual Diversity Week celebrations.
This year’s theme was the Possibility of Diversity, and students and faculty had the option of attending crafts, conversations and other celebrations during lunch and activity those two weeks.
Some highlights include making Mardi Gras masks with Ms. Amick, Unitown’s tie dyeing fundraiser and Latin American dancing with Ms. Axton.
Students learned about differing cultures and perspectives from other students as well as people outside of the STA community.
Dr. Rocio Duncan, a professor from Rockhurst University, gave a presentation about Mexico’s culture, food and traditions.
This is senior Clare Odegard. As a member of STA’s diversity committee, Clare helped organize the Diversity week celebrations and led a discussion about micro lending and another about feminism.
Sophomore Andie Drummond spoke about her views of diversity at STA while tie dyeing t-shirts February 22.
