Former principal of student affairs Mary Anne Hoecker passed away early this morning after an ongoing battle with breast cancer for the last year.

After being diagnosed with cancer last year, Hoecker decided to retire from STA in order to continue to heal after a mastectomy and chemotherapy last November.

She entered hospice care after sustaining a number of falls in her home. She passed away at 12:39 a.m. Dec. 30.
