The varsity volleyball team competed in Districts against Truman High School Oct. 18. They won the first set 25-15 and won the second set 25-10.

“I think as a team we really pulled together and focused in on our goal,” sophomore Elise McGhie said. “With our effort we were able to pull out a great win and advance for the third year in a row. I’m just so proud of everyone.”

The Stars will now advance to compete in Sectionals.

“We feel really confident right now and we are really consecutive with how we are playing,” sophomore Kristen Ford said. “I think we are going to do well.”

The Stars are next set to play Sectionals Oct. 21 at Park Hill South where they will play Park Hill South High School.

“We were all really excited about winning but we know not to get too excited yet because we still have a lot more to go,” freshman Maggie McInerney said.
