U.S. Government classes stay connected
To help stay connected Ms. Papineau’s classes use TheSkimm, a daily email that’s quick and fun to read.

Mrs. Papineau’s U.S. Government students began using a daily email newsletter that sends them news about current events every morning. It’s a fast and new way to see all the news.
TheSkimm was started by two young women in July of 2012 and now has over 1.5 million subscribers. The website is known for it’s witty and entertaining puns while still being able to update their subscribers with news.
It’s main use for the class is for the students to be able to keep up with the current events and to be informed of what’s happening around the world.
“It seems that with the decline of newspapers and the nightly news programs, students are losing their connection to the important political events happening throughout the United States and the world,” Papineau said.
