I’m so excited to introduce to you something that I’ve been thinking about since I found out I would be the Opinion Editor this year. I knew that I wanted to begin a project that would both inform and interest Dart readers, and hopefully this video blog will do both of those things. For my first blog, I wanted to talk about hair. This subject may seem a little mundane, especially in the face of the racism and cycle of poverty that many African-Americans face today. However, I wanted to begin my series on a lighter note. Plus, I think that we don’t talk about hair enough! I get so many questions about my hair, and want to address a few! Take a look below:
I wash my hair much more often when it’s not straightened than when it is – maybe once a week – but when I tell my hairdresser this, she thinks that I wash it very often! The way different cultures deal with these everyday things is very interesting to me. I hope you all find this series interesting. Feel free to ask questions.
XOXO

P.S – I know that we said “we’re not so different after all” twice at the end. I meant to. It’s the point of this entire blog!
