Up-and-coming barbecue restaurant Q39 has earned its place among Kansas City’s barbecue powerhouses.
Award winning chef and owner Rob Magee has created an artistic menu incorporating barbecue classics, such as fall-off-the-bone tender ribs and pulled pork. For those less traditional customers, the menu includes a variety of soups and sandwiches.
Upon first entering the restaurant, it is clear that this will not be a typical dining experience. The back wall is graced with trophies and medals from various barbecue competitions. Up front is an open kitchen with a wood burning grill to cook meats and fish. Decorated with rustic wood furniture, its elegant interior design contrasts its affordability. With prices ranging from 10-20 dollars, the restaurant strikes a price range balance somewhere between Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue and Gates Bar-B-Q.
Overall, the restaurant provides a reasonably priced, enjoyable culinary experience.
