Postsecret began as a community art project, where people could get their secrets out to the world by mailing them in anonymously on homemade postcards. Some of you may have seen the Postsecret book at Urban Outfitters, or you may have seen the postcards featured in the music video “Dirty Little Secret” by the All American Rejects. Frank Warren, the man who created Postsecret asked the band to give $2,000 to The National Hopeline Network 1 (800) SUICIDE. Warren also gives some of the profits of the Postsecret book to the hotline. Postsecret has received postcards from places all over the world, including: Afghanistan, India, Ireland, Australia, and Hong Kong.
Now it’s your turn to submit your own secrets for the chance to be published in The Dart! On a 3×5 index card use images or your own artistic ability to creatively enhance your written or typed secret. You can anonymously submit your secret in my (Mary O’Leary) mailbox, in Mr. Thomas’ room D204. Secrets can be submitted throughout the year, and will be uploaded onto Dart News Online.
