Oct. 5, the junior class went on a field trip to the Coterie Theatre to watch the play Becoming Martin. The play was about Martin Luther King Jr.’s collegiate experience and his road to becoming a pastor and the development his views on civil rights.

The event was proposed and chaperoned by American History teachers Anne Papineau and Craig Whitney.

“It was a riveting play and I know the junior class very much enjoyed it as well,” said Papineau, “my hope is that the lessons taught by the story of a young Martin Luther King, Jr. have been absorbed by our students and serve as a reminder of the value of work ethic and fighting for justice.”

Further information on Becoming Martin will be in the second issue of the Dart, out Oct. 22.
