This is my real senior confession.
It all started in December of junior year. I was scrolling through Twitter, minding my own business, when I saw that the Twinks Twitter account was being given away. I contacted Twinks and met her in the corner of the basement in M&A. She gave me the information for the account, and I was on my way.
That’s right, kids. I’m the Twinks Twitter account.
Some of you may not be surprised, some of you might be, I don’t know. I know my friends that I didn’t tell will probably be mad at me, but this stuff is sacred. Let me tell you, keeping it a secret was kind of hard at times.
The worst was when my whole French class started talking about who it could be and I had to keep from laughing or smiling or doing absolutely anything. I saw my life flash before my eyes while everyone discussed it around me.
It also happened at my friend Grace Girardeau’s house. I was sitting with my boyfriend and fellow senior Kristina Coppinger. I had tweeted something a short time before I went to Grace’s, and Kristina started to talk to me about it.
“Oh my gosh, did you see the Twinks tweet?” Kristina asked.
White hot terror flowed through my veins. My boyfriend sat next to me, intently staring to see if I would break because he knew my secret.
“Yeah, that was funny, wasn’t it?” I nervously laughed.
“Yes! I just want to know who it is though, who do you think it is?” she questioned.
“Uhh, I really don’t know. Maybe Violet?” I responded, throwing out a lie I hoped she would accept.
“Oh yeah, that would make sense.” She began to talk about it some more, but I claimed I had to go to the bathroom and went inside the house.
So, Kristina, I apologize for lying to you a lot but it had to be done. Also, I apologize to everyone for not posting as often. I also want to apologize for blocking Mrs. McCormick off the Twinks Twitter. Please don’t kick me out of STA.
Anyway, I’m leaving the Twinks Twitter in good hands. A fellow STA student will be taking care of my little Twitter baby until she passes it on to the next worthy student.
Running Twinks was loads of fun, and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. Also, this is kind of my last blog, so this is the end of Almost Southern as well. Don’t worry, I’m putting out another blog as soon as I get the video for it done, but technically this is the last one.
So, thanks for the memories on this fabulous blog and Twinks. I will miss both of my children and I hope they live on in your memories. I also hope you read them when you get bored in math class in two years.
Okay, for real though, thanks for reading. Thanks for not killing me when I wrote about how dumb boys are or when I wrote that column about freshmen (but I’m not gonna get into that too much).
Over and out, stars. Have a nice life.
