Seniors sign to play college sports

Four STA soccer players and two STA volleyball players will continue their athletic careers in college next year.

Six seniors signed National Letters of Intent to play collegiate sports next year at a signing ceremony after school this afternoon. Grace Kitts, Maddy Russell, Alyssa Seitzer and Abby Small all committed to play soccer, and Emma Runyan and Maddie Torti committed to play volleyball.

Soccer coach Jeremy McElduff and volleyball coach Lauren Mathewson spoke about the contributions and influences of these seniors on their teams. The 2015 STA soccer team won the State championship in June, and the volleyball team was the State runner-up this fall.

Soccer signings:

  • Grace Kitts – University of Missouri Columbia
  • Maddy Russell – Kansas State University (Manhattan, Kan.)
  • Alyssa Seitzer – Saint Louis University (St. Louis)
  • Abby Small – University of Missouri Kansas City

Volleyball signings:

  • Emma Runyan – Graceland University (Lamoni, Iowa)
  • Maddie Torti – DePaul University (Chicago, Ill.)
