Golf team competes against Sion

The STA varsity golf team lost to Notre Dame de Sion High School Sept. 14 at Blue Hills Country Club. The top varsity scorer was senior Gabi Dorrell with a score of 45 on nine holes.

The JV team competed Sept. 17 against Blue Springs High School, Blue Springs South High School, Notre Dame de Sion High School and Shawnee Mission East High School. Junior Claire Franey led the JV team with a score of 49 on nine holes.

“Overall, we are improving, but it was disappointing to lose against Sion,” junior Claire Franey said.

Next week, varsity will play Sept. 22 and 24, while JV will play Sept. 21 and 24. They will be focusing on improvements for Districts Sept. 28.
