This week, the St. Teresa’s varsity softball team beat St. Joseph Central High School 11-8 at home, beat Archbishop O’Hara High School 19-1 away, lost to St. Joseph Lafayette High School 7-6 away and beat Ursuline Academy 7-3 at home.

“The girls played pretty well tonight and showed a lot of resiliency,” head coach Ty Abney said. “Going into the fifth inning, we were down five runs. We talked about staying in the fight and the girls answered. The coaching staff has been extremely pleased up to this point with the girls’ effort and ability to stay in every game.”

Next week, the Stars face St. Pius X High School away Tuesday, Mid-Buchanan High School at home Wednesday and Grandview High School at home Friday.

“Next week will be big for us,” Abney said. “We should be able to come away with wins, but have to take them one at a time and stay focused on what we’re trying to accomplish. As long as we keep the line moving, we’ll do well.”
