During the Mother Evelyn O’Neill Award Ceremony, five students were recognized for their achievements in community service and dedication to helping the dear neighbor.

The Mother Evelyn O’Neill Award Ceremony was held March 10 in the Goppert Center. STA president Nan Bone welcomed attendees before the STA Singers performed the STA Alma Mater, followed by speeches from senior Ceci Ismert and Kim Davis about their community service experiences. Davis was the recipient of the award for her efforts in the Kansas City community.
Five student nominees for the award were announced: senior Gracie Fleming, senior Sydney Hunter, junior Kellie O’Toole, freshman Gabrielle Pesek and junior Lauren Ryan. Fleming won the award, as well as $250 to donate to the charity of her choice.
