“About Time,” starring Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleeson, who also played Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter movies, tells the story of a semi-awkward man named Tim who learns of a family secret that allows him to travel back in time. After meeting Mary, played by McAdams, and not making a rather great first impression, Tim uses his newfound ability to travel back in time to try and win Mary’s heart.
Before seeing this movie, I figured it would be an ordinary romantic comedy that tried too hard to be funny, but I was pleasantly surprised. About Time balanced candid comedy with the sincere struggles of life and love at first sight. I highly recommend seeing this movie while it’s still in theaters, especially if you are a fan of Love Actually, which was also written by Richard Curtis.
