It’s now officially the end of the winter sports season. So, it’s time to say goodbye to these beloved sports:
Dear Swim and Dive Team,
Let me just say, swimming and diving is one of the COOLEST sports at STA. I know everyone says they can “swim,” but you guys can SWIM. Looking at some of your times at meets is insane. Just thinking about the crazy endurance swimmers need makes me tired. Also, diving is another awesome part of the swim team. I am so jealous of all the flips and dives you can do while diving. The only thing I can do is jump off a diving board, I’ll leave you guys to do all the flips and dives. Also, congrats on breaking records at State. I saw some of the pictures from State and it looks like so much fun. From what I have heard, this team seems like they have so much fun all the time. I know next year you guys will be killin’ it like usual.
Dear Basketball team,
First off, congrats on reaching the Sectional game this season. That achievement made everyone at STA proud to support the Stars. It has been so much fun covering your games. Watching you guys play in the Sprint Center was such a great experience. The fact that you guys played in the same arena that NBA players have played in is something you should brag about for the rest of your life.
Also, you should know that my favorite part of watching the team play is watching the players on the bench. Your reactions when something happens in the game is hilarious. You guys are so enthusiastic and supportive of each other, and that showed with how far you made it in the postseason. I’m gonna miss dressing up in ridiculous costumes and cheering for you guys. But, I know that next season you will be just as spirited and determined to go even further in the postseason.
Dear Dance team,
You guys don’t always get the credit you deserve here at STA. You guys have the longest season and perform at every home game AND a few Rockhurst games. I love watching how much you guys really enjoy dancing. Your faces and energy during your routines say it all. Just know that all of the countless hours doing dances over and over again and cleaning up the moves for hours has paid off. You guys did amazing at every game. Also, for what I have heard, you guys did amazing at State and all of STA should be proud of all the hard work you put into this long season.
Spring sports, it’s your turn.
